In short

Sunny shows no ads, doesn't track you and doesn't sell your data. It uses no analytics or advertising kits.

Your tasks live in your iCloud. Your calendar and location stay on your iPhone. Sunny's server keeps only what your assistant needs to work.

What stays on your iPhone

Your calendar events and reminders are read on your iPhone. Only your busy times go to the server; event titles go only if you turn them on in Settings › Account (off by default).

Your location is used only for the weather and goes only to Apple's WeatherKit, never to Sunny's server.

The short sentences in Day Ahead are written on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence.

What lives in your iCloud

The main copy of your tasks is in your Apple account's private iCloud database. Sunny can't read it.

What Sunny's server keeps

Your account: the user identifier Sign in with Apple gives. There's no password, and only a hash of your session key is kept.

The tasks your assistant needs: tasks in your Inbox and tasks you haven't touched, in full; of the others only a short trace (key, the first 60 characters of the title, status, dates and times).

Your day's context: busy times, event titles if you turned them on, today's weather without your location, and Day Ahead notes.

Your notification settings and the device key needed to send them; when your assistant last ran and which sources it checked (app names only).

End-to-end encrypted backups, kept for 30 days. Only you have the key (your recovery code and iCloud Keychain); Sunny can't read them.

The server runs on Cloudflare, and all traffic is encrypted (HTTPS).

What we keep and for how long

Where your data goes

Your assistant (ChatGPT or Claude)

When you connect an assistant (OpenAI's ChatGPT or Anthropic's Claude), it reads and writes your tasks, your day's context and Day Ahead notes through Sunny's connector. That data is then covered by that company's own privacy policy.

Sunny never gets access to your mail or work tools; your assistant uses its own connectors. The only exception is the direct connections below. You can disconnect it in Settings › Assistant.

Direct connections (Granola)

If you connect Granola in Settings › Assistant › Direct connections, Sunny reads your meeting notes and summaries, with the permission you give when you sign in to Granola; it never reads transcripts. Every hour it fetches new meetings and passes them to your assistant, which decides what becomes a task.

Notes Sunny reads stay on its server until your assistant's next run, then their content is deleted; only a meeting's id stays for 45 days so it isn't passed on twice. Your Granola sign-in tokens are stored encrypted. When you disconnect, the tokens and any notes not yet passed on are deleted right away.

Apple services

Sunny uses Sign in with Apple to sign in, the Apple Push Notification service for notifications, WeatherKit for the weather, and iCloud.

Deleting your data

Settings › Forget me deletes all your data and backups on the server and revokes Sign in with Apple. It also deletes your tasks in iCloud from this iPhone.
